PF&TCO is excited to feature “Mr. Do It All,” Jason Zimmerman, for this month’s employee highlight!
“JZ, is a true leader hands down. He is always making an effort to help develop himself and our team. He leads by example and establishes strong, trusting relationships with anyone he comes in contact with. Jason really is “Mr. Do It All”. He doesn’t shy away from any challenge or obstacle. Personally I would trust him to do any job here at PF&TCO because there isn’t much he can’t do. Jason is the type of employee that inspires me to be a better leader.” ~Yovonne Kenny, VP Sales & Operations
1. What is your name and title/role?
Jason Zimmerman and current role is “Mr. Do It All” 😁 I’m not really big on titles but if I had to answer this question it would currently be Turnover and Scheduling Manager.
2. What is your work background?
I have been in the flooring industry for 24 years. I am a hardwood installer/finisher by trade. My specialty is cosmetic repairs and touch ups for anything hardwood related and I have repair certifications from Shaw, Armstrong, Mohawk, Mannington, Kahrs and am also OSHA certified. I have been through just about every aspect of the industry from installation, warehouse, operations, production, management and owned my own flooring company as a subcontractor for many years.
3. What’s your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of this job has to be collaboration with the amazing team here at Preferred Floor and Tile Co.
4. What motivates you in your job?
The culture at Preferred is unlike any other company I have ever worked for! I love coming to work every day and get lost in time. The days go by so quick!
5. What are some of your hobbies and interests?
I am an avid outdoorsman! My wife and I love to mountain bike, hike and travel the globe. I trade the futures and options market on a daily basis. I have been doing this for about 4 years now and plan to retire at 50 to do this full time while traveling.
6. Do you have a favorite work lunch? 😝
My favorite work lunch has to be the OTTO Salad from Protagonist Brewery! Amazing!!
7. What is something you are looking forward to/excited about coming up at PF&TCO?
Preferred is growing very fast and there are a lot of changes. Most people have a tough time with change but honestly, I thrive on it! Starting in October I will be taking lead to implement a scheduling software for us. I’m pretty excited about that!
